Hotel and Casino Falls in Las Vegas: Details to Remember

Large properties can have many entrances, levels, and operators. Pinpointing the area can make your account clearer.

Identify the exact area of the property

A hotel or casino may cover a large footprint. If you can, note the property name and the most specific location you remember: a gaming area, lobby, guest-room hallway, pool deck, restaurant entrance, garage, valet line, escalator area, or sidewalk.

Landmarks are useful when you do not know the formal name of an area. A nearby shop, elevator bank, room tower, or entrance can help make your description more precise.

Look for the details around the surface

Busy resort spaces change quickly. If it is safe, preserve what you observed before the area is cleaned, moved, or crowded. Water near a pool, a freshly mopped floor, worn carpet, a change in flooring, an item in a walkway, or a dim transition can be relevant factual details to record.

Do not guess about why a condition was present or how long it had been there. It is more helpful to state what you personally saw, felt, or were told, and to distinguish that from anything you are unsure about.

  • The route you were taking before the fall
  • Lighting and visibility at the time
  • Nearby signs, cones, cords, mats, or service activity
  • The staff or security office you notified, if any

Keep travel and stay records together

Reservation confirmations, room keys, receipts, parking tickets, ride records, and photos from the trip can help you place the event in time. Save them together with your incident notes instead of relying on account histories that may be harder to locate later.
